Just a Second-

Over at Rands in Repose there’s talk about avoiding your mouse to shave off time in your work routine. I sorta agree.

Anyone who’s seen me type knows I Raptor-Peck. Three claws on each hand, enough with your home-row dogma. I consider myself fairly fast with the routine tasks I do. Navigating around OSX, Photoshop, InDesign and the like. I can’t emphasis enough the importance of knowing your shortcut keys. They’re faster then finding the option buried in the menus.

But I tend to work with one hand on the mouse and one hand on the keyboard, because I’m always pointing and clicking in Illustrator or using Exposé. I dunno. I know I’m fast - but how much faster can it all be if I ditch the mouse? Will I save more time then I spent reaching for the mouse to manipulate anchor points and paint layer masks?
